About the Program Each ELTF Study Program includes intensive language and cultural study, run over the first three weeks in January. Please note that teaching methodology is not a formal component of the Program.
Language Study
The language study component of the Program aims at improving Awardees’ proficiency in the language. The language component comprises of fifty contact hours delivered over three weeks – in addition, Awardees are expected to spend extra hours on homework, reflection and personal study. It is an immersion program delivered in an intensive mode; it can be demanding and thus requires a high level of commitment from Awardees. Awardees’ language proficiency will be assessed before the start and at the end of the language study to place Awardees in appropriate levels of study and to measure their progress respectively.
Cultural Study
The cultural study component, which includes activities and field trips, will include visits to a variety of culturally significant locations, school visits and networking, exposure to contemporary life, and opportunity for authentic experiences allowing understanding of the culture associated with the language of study.
