2011 Awardee from Bendigo South East Secondary College Beverly Harvey was extremely impressed with the unique learning opportunity the ELTF Program offered.

“I found it extremely beneficial to have the opportunity through the Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowship to improve my language proficiency and teaching resources.  I learnt such a variety of skills during the field trip component of my visit to Indonesia which has further enabled me to educate students on language exchange and cultural aspects of Indonesia in the classroom. ”

Katie Groves, a trainee teacher and 2011 Awardee was extremely impressed with the unique learning opportunity the ELTF Program offered,

“The 2011 ELTF Program was a fantastic experience that gave me the confidence to improve my language skills, the opportunity to meet teachers from all around Australia and learn more about Japanese culture and people.  I was able to find many potentially useful realia for teaching students about the Japanese lifestyle. I also purchased items that will help me in create a positive and engaging learning environment for my future students.

Overall, I believe the best resource I gained from the program was the knowledge and ideas of the other program awardees. I was given lots of advice for starting my career when I spoke with many of the teachers about the difficulties and successes they have experienced in their classrooms as well as their ideas for classroom games.

Since returning to Australia I have kept in contact with fellow awardees and we have continued to support one another. When I commence my employment as a Japanese teacher, I will be able to use my experiences to help students learn Japanese and about Japanese culture with confidence.”
